Fear is healthy. Fear is necessary. Fear is a potent tool that protects us from outside perils and propels us to inward innovation. Fear enables survival and fear inspires solutions. All this is true. But that’s not all the truth there is when it comes to fear. Fear is also a power unto itself. We can use fear, yes, but when fear uses us, it unleashes unknowable firestorms of madness, agony, and despair, and it drives us to ends that can never be predicted. This is the story of a woman at the mercy of fear who learns, as we all should, that fear knows no mercy. Reality versus illusion, vigilance versus paranoia, life versus death versus… something else.
